It just so happens that I took my Christmas wreath down from my front door just today... ahem only 3 months after Christmas... not bad! And I noticed I still had a Christmas door mat, so being a newlywed I went online to see if I could get a custom doormat with our newly shared last name on it. Not only were there a million choices, but most of them took TWO weeks to get here. Did I mention I'm a millennial newlywed, so I wanted it NOW?
I made a decision all girls who are privy to pinterest made, I would DIY. YES, DIY.
I packed up my taxes file to dwell on this evening, and headed to Home Depot to gather my supplies.
1. A plain doormat approximately $10.00
2. Spray Paint
I would also need painters tape, but I have bounties of that since I'm a real estate agent who uses it all the time.
I would also do just plain white, because the robins egg blue color is so pretty but mixed with the darker brown shadowing of the mat the blue doesn't pop- and I think white would.
I might also suggest sticking with it and continue painting with love until it really looks amazing, but that would not be me- that sort of attention is deserved from me usually toward cooking and relationships with other humans and very rarely on crafts. But I had fun, and I highly recommend this to any newlywed millennial who wants to display their newly shared last name and wants to do it... NOW.
